Pad Care Instructions
The Importance of Pad Care
Consistent Results
Using a dirty pad on a clean surface can create more defects than it removes. A clean pad gives you consistent, reliable performance and a top-notch finished surface.

Maintenance by Pad Type
Your pads require different maintenance products and techniques depending on the pad material. Maximize the lifetime, boost performance and prevent damage by caring for your pads the right way. Click the type of pad you use below to learn how to clean and maintain the material properly.
Foam pads can be cleaned in a number of ways. Proper cleaning can lengthen the pad’s life. Note: Using a pressure washer or high-pressure compressed air can damage or reduce the longevity of the foam or foam pad. We recommend using a different method to avoid any issues.
Option 1: System 2000™ Pad Washer or System 4000® Pad Washer with PureFlo® Technology
- Wash with Snappy Clean Boost™ Pad Cleaning Powder in pad washer
- Rinse with clean water
- Air dry
Option 2: Machine Wash
- LC recommends washing no more than 10 pads at a time and removing the pads from the washing machine promptly after cycle is complete. Pads can be damaged or permanently deformed if left in the washing machine after spin cycle is complete. Additionally, damage can occur if too many pads are washed at once.
- Wash with Snappy Clean Boost™ Pad Cleaning Powder
- Run on gentle cycle
- Use cold or warm water only. Hot water can shrink velcro loop.
- Allow to air dry
Microfiber pads should be cleaned regularly to remove built-up polish and residue in the pad and to fluff the microfiber material, which results in better performance. Unlike pads made from other materials, microfiber pads can be cleaned with compressed air.
Compressed Air
- Blow gun or tornado
- Must use respirator or dust mask and eye protection

Snappy Clean Boost™ Pad Cleaning Powder is a concentrated cleaner that releases wax and polish from the foam or wool pads with just a few minutes of soaking.
Benefits
- Keeps pads clean, soft and supple
- Bio-degradable and non-flammable
- Environmentally safe
- Rinses out easily
Knitted wool pads can be easily cleaned with a standard pad brush or can be washed using the System 2000™ or 4000® Pad Washer. These pads can also be washed in a washing machine, but wool pads can become slightly altered when washed or cleaned with water.

- Allow to air dry
LC recommends these pads be cleaned regularly using a metal spur made for this specific application. The spur helps break up compound and residue that has built up and dried in the pad. Wool pads can be cleaned with water, but at your own discretion. These pads are built to withstand the washing process, but wool can shrink and modify during the cleaning process once water is introduced. Washing with water will not “damage” the pad but can change the buffing performance. If washed with water, we recommend using Snappy Clean Boost™ pad cleaning powder to break up and clean residue before fully rinsing the pad clean.
