Buffing Pads by Task

Every great finish starts with the right pad.

From heavy defect removal to final polishing, achieving the best finish depends on matching the pad to the task at every stage of the process. Lake Country designs buffing pads for each application, helping you improve efficiency, achieve more consistent results and reduce unnecessary rework.

Cutting

Cutting is the most aggressive stage of paint correction. Its goal is to remove deep scratches, oxidation, water spots, sanding marks and swirl marks by leveling imperfections in the surface. It is also used for gel coat restoration and industrial surface correction. This stage typically uses a more aggressive pad paired with a cutting compound.

Recommended Pad Types

  • HDO® Foam Cutting Pads
  • Microfiber Cutting Pads
  • Tufted Wool Pads
  • Knitted Wool Pads

Polishing

Once major defects have been removed, polishing refines the finish and restores clarity by eliminating haze, fine scratches and light swirls and imperfections left behind during cutting. This is often where the paint begins to reveal its depth and color. Many everyday paint correction jobs can be completed with only a polishing step when defects are minimal.

Recommended Pad Types

  • CCS® Polishing Pads
  • HDO® Polishing Pads
  • SDOâ„¢ Polishing Pads
  • Microfiber Polishing Pads

Finishing

Finishing pads are used for the final refinement of an already corrected surface. Rather than removing significant defects, finishing pads are designed to enhance gloss, improve reflectivity and produce a flawless appearance. They are often used for wax and sealant application and ceramic coating preparation.

Recommended Pad Types

  • CCS® Finishing Pads
  • SDOâ„¢ Finishing Pads
  • HDO® Finishing Pads
  • Soft Foam Finishing Pads
  • Microfiber Polishing Pads

Cleaning

Not every detailing project involves polishing. Interior cleaning pads are designed to safely clean leather, vinyl, plastics, upholstery and carpet while improving efficiency and delivering more consistent results than hand scrubbing alone. Recommended Pad Types
  • Interior Cleaning Pads
  • Specialty Cleaning Pads
  • Carpet and Upholstery Accessories
